General and Membership

  • How do I join Fortune DT Sacco Society Ltd, and what are the membership requirements?

    A: Visit any of our branches with your national ID and Ksh.500 for 5 shares at Ksh. 100 each plus an additionalentrance fee of Ksh 120. (totalling to Ksh 620)You will complete a membership form and open a shares and savings account.
  • Who is eligible to become a member of Fortune DT Sacco Ltd?

    A: Any Kenyan individual, business, investment group, or organisation meeting the membership criteria can join.
  • How many branches does Fortune Sacco have?

    A: Fortune Sacco operates 18 branches nationwide, serving members across Kirinyaga, Nairobi, and Kajiado Counties.
  • Can I access all services from any branch?

    A: Yes, our branches across Nairobi, Kajiado and Kirinyaga counties are fully networked to serve you seamlessly.

Savings Accounts

  • What savings products does Fortune DT Sacco Society Ltd offer?

    A: Fortune Sacco offers a wide range of savings accounts, including Zidisha, Mwelekeo, Flexi, Business, Group, Staff, Thamani Junior, Jiinue, Lengo, Fixed Deposit, and Call Deposit accounts.
  • What is the minimum balance for savings accounts?

    A: This varies by account type. For example, Flexi Savings Account has no minimum balance, while investment accounts have specific thresholds.
  • What is Share Capital and why is it important?

    A: Share Capital represents your ownership in the Sacco. Each share is valued at KES 100, and a minimum of 50 shares is required to access loans. Shareholders earn annual dividends of upto 14% every year.
  • How safe are my deposits?

    A: Deposits are protected under SASRA regulations. The Sacco undergoes regular audits and complies with financial laws to ensure your funds are secure.
  • What is Zidisha Shares Account?

    A: Zidisha Shares is a loan pre-determinant account where savings are multiplied 5 times to determine loan eligibility. It also earns 8% annual interest.

Loans

  • Who qualifies for a loan?

    A: Eligibility depends on membership duration, savings history, income source, loan type, and compliance with Sacco lending policies.
  • What types of loans does Fortune Sacco offer?

    A: We offer a diverse range of loans, including Business Loans, Asset and Project Finance, Agricultural Loans, Salary Loans, Advance Loans, Mobile Loans, as well as Green and Housing Loans.
  • How long does loan approval take?

    A: Approval timelines vary by loan type. Short-term loans and mobile loans are processed faster, while project and asset loans undergo detailed appraisal.
  • What security is required for loans?

    A: Member Savings may primarily secure a loan facility. Security may include savings, guarantors, logbooks, title deeds, chattels, or project assets depending on the loan product.

Digital Banking, Agency, ATMs and Payment Service

  • How can I transact ?

    A: Fortune DT Sacco Ltd offers multiple convenient transaction channels, including branch banking, USSD *638#, eCash App, Paybill 852648, ATM services, Agency banking, and Internet Banking.
  • How do I register for mobile or internet banking?

    A: Registration is done physically at the mother branch for security verification.
  • What should I do if I forget my PIN or password?

    A: Visit any Fortune Sacco branch or contact the Call Centre through 0111 054 300 for secure assistance.
  • Does Fortune Sacco have ATM services?

    A: Yes. Members can use Visa-branded Sacco-Link ATM cards at any ATM booths nationwide. Visit any Branch to apply for one.
  • What is Agency Banking?

    A: Fortune Sacco Agents allow members to deposit, withdraw, and make payments conveniently within their local areas around Kirinyaga and Embu Counties.
  • What is the Paybill number?

    A:Our official Paybill number is 852648. Members use their account number as the reference.

Insurance and Welfare

  • What is Forsa Insurance Agency?

    A: Forsa Insurance is a fully owned subsidiary of Fortune Sacco, licensed in 2021 to offer all classes of insurance. The agency also offers claims and risk management services to members and non-members.
  • What insurance covers are available?

    A: Forsa Insurance Agency offers a range of covers including Motor Insurance, Livestock Insurance, Fire and Burglary Insurance, Medical Cover, and Student Personal Accident Cover.
  • What is coopCare Medical Cover?

    A: An affordable medical cover for Fortune Sacco members and their families, CoopCare (in partnership with CIC Insurance) offers enhanced benefits for members, spouses and children via a wide network of mission and private hospitals nationwide for ages 18–70.
  • How do I apply for FORSA insurance?

    A: To apply, you complete and sign the relevant proposal form, attach required KYC documents (such as ID, PIN, and birth certificates for children), provide passport photos where applicable and submit the documents at your nearest Fortune Sacco branch for processing.
  • What is the Benevolent Fund?

    A: The Benevolent Fund is a welfare structure established to provide financial support to Sacco members or their immediate family Incase of death. It ensures that members can access financial assistance to aid in funeral expenses.
  • How much do members contribute?

    A: Each member contributes a fixed amount of Ksh 700 annually to the Benevolent Fund, usually deducted from their savings account once a year.
  • How much is paid out after a claim?

    A: The Benevolent Fund payout is Ksh 30,000, subject to the claim being lodged within 6 months after the demise. A claim can be made in the event of the death of a member or an eligible dependent, provided the required documents and proof of relationship are submitted.
